Theresa Stevens

Theresa grew up in San Diego, a few miles from here and moved to Santa Barbara where she attended UC Santa Barbara and earned a BA and PhD in marine ecology.  Between those degrees, Theresa spent a year in Coos Bay Oregon, working on a research project which documented invasive species introductions via in-bound ships from Asia.

Theresa started her career with the Corps while in graduate school and has also worked in local government and the private sector to learn and practice regulatory requirements of the state of California.

In 2008, Theresa took on the Regulatory program duties for Port of Long Beach. In 2011 she transitioned to the Port of Los Angeles.  As the Port of LA regulatory project manager, she has been responsible for several Environmental Impact Statements (none were litigated) and developed a great working relationship with Port staff.
