Evaluating the Impact of Offshore Renewable Energy Development and O/G Platform Decommissioning
Stacey Kilarski, Resource Management Specialist with Lynker, a premier science, engineering, and technology company, will provide an overview of the study: Port Infrastructure Needs of Commercial and Recreational Fisheries Along the U.S. West Coast. Ms. Kilarski will explore the study’s research and strategies to evaluate how offshore renewable energy development and oil and gas platform decommissioning may affect West Coast port-based fishing industries. The study will be key to future environmental reviews by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Coastal Zone Management Act determinations, and long-term offshore energy planning. Ms. Kilarski will highlight those parts of the study that focus on infrastructure conditions, stakeholder priorities and port-specific sensitivities to future offshore energy development while minimizing adverse impacts on coastal economies and fisheries.
