Jeff Pelton is a Policy Advisor with Canada’s National Supply Chain Office, an office established within Transport Canada to work with industry, governments and partners to make Canada’s supply chains more efficient, fluid, resilient and reliable. Jeff’s current focus is on the transportation, handling and shipping of bulk cargoes, identifying and understanding existing and legacy challenges within supply chains in Canada, and supporting efforts to address operational constraints. With a focus on innovation and problem solving, Jeff brings prior experience working with the Federal Government, in Port Operations, and in the Marine Industry. Prior to working with the Supply Chain Office, Jeff worked to address the impacts of vessel traffic on at-risk whale species in Canadian waters, including from underwater noise and disturbance. Jeff grew up in Vancouver around the waterfront. He worked on Tugs and workboats in Vancouver Harbour before becoming a senior officer on tankers and passenger vessels operating worldwide. He now lives in Victoria with his family.
