Katie Miller is the Director of HR and Administrative Services for the Port of Stockton. Her duties at the Port of Stockton include strategic talent acquisition, risk management, compliance, and board support/consulting functions as well as oversight of a team of staff responsible for all HR functions, emergency management, organization-wide records management, and public records retention and requests. She has served as an executive officer for the Central California Safety Council since 2013. Her passion for leadership and talent management includes serving as a member of numerous HR organizations such as the national and local chapters of the Society of Human Resources Management and the International Public Management Association for Human Resources. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University Sacramento and is currently working towards completing her Professional Certificate in Port Management with the “Industry Recognized Port Certificate (IRPC)” through American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA). In addition, Katie is a participant in AAPA’s Professional Port Manager (PPM®) Program Bravo Cohort Class of 2023. Prior to her work with the Port, Katie worked in variety of HR professional roles with private and non-profit organizations such as ConAgra Foods, Macy’s, and Insurance Company of the West.
